Volkswagen Colchester
« on: 06 October 2011, 16:28 »
Afternoon

GTI has been in for a service at Inchape VW Colchester today, all fine but on the status report they've done for the car it says that the front left cv joint is damaged and leaking; quoting £205 to do this. Looking around the forum it seems to be the typical stealer inflated price for a small job. Can anyone recommend a good VW specialist in the Colchester area who would be worth approaching to get the job done for a fraction of the cost?

Cheers

M

If you know & trust any local garage close to you they should be able to do it. Bread & butter work for a garage.

As above, find a good local garage.

Also it might not need a joint but just the boot replacing.

This, when I went into VW they told me I needed a new joint/driveshaft.  Took it to a specialist and all I actually needed was a new boot.  Always worth a second opinion when silly prices are being mentioned.
