If you've never had a passport don't you have to go for an interview now anyways?

If you are applying for your first adult passport, you should apply at least six weeks before you want to travel. You can't use the Fast Track one-week or Premium one-day services. This is because, as well as completing the form, you need to have an interview as part of the application process. The Identity and Passport Service (IPS) will contact you to arrange an interview after they have received and checked your application.

Ohhhh I don't know what to do...

Should I risk it and just send off the form and wait for it to arrive, or wait 'til the end of the month as I'm going to either Wales or London.....?

Knowing my luck, it probably won't turn up until a day or two after for when I leave to go on holiday?!

right... as a helpful response

there are a few ways to do a passport

1. do it yourself as a standard turnaround
2. do it through check and send at the post office... means your application won't get rejected.. costs £24 quid but I think the turnaround is quicker
3. at the passport office... you book an appointment.. get seen and your application gets processed in one of three ways...
3a. turnaround the same day
3b. turn around in one week
3c. turn around in two weeks

Last time I needed a passport I was told I was going away the following week so had to get the passport office to do it... did it on a one week turnaround and it came back in three days.

My other half got her passport through post office check and send this summer.. it didn't take long at all.

You can of course look all of this information up online :)
