Boss Kit and Evo Steering Wheel
« on: 18 September 2003, 21:41 »
Hello Chaps and any chapets

Need some information or your opinions.

If a buy a momo boss kit for a 91 8v:

1. What size is the diameter of the boss kit for my 91 GTi 8v, 320 or 350?

2. Will it fit ANY Momo steering wheel?

3. Will it fit ANY steering wheel (universal or generic fitment)?

4. Will it fit a Momo steering wheel that is  for the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market). The steering wheel in question is a Momo steering wheel from an Mitsubishi Evo from Japan?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Cheers Manesh

1. 320 and 350 is the diameter of the steering wheel in mm so you can have the standard aftermarket size of 350 or the slightly smaller 320. These measurements have nothing to do with the boss.

2. I understand that all the momo range mounting bolts are standard pcd.

3. I think that it will fit most if not all the aftermarket steering wheels. after all those snap on bosses fit most of them and have the same boss mountings for the wheel.

4. Not sure on the japanese aspect but as said above most of the manufacturers are making the fittings standard. is usually just the splines that differ on the boss kits. Best bet is to try asking on the various forums. someone must have tried the same thing.

after reading a couple of the posts i think i might give the momo steering wheel a miss coz I heard it takes ages for you to perfect its correct position - too much effort....

Cheers again Mod!! ;)
