Silicone hoses
« on: 04 October 2011, 21:58 »
What is the craic with silicone hoses on a diesel (150PD in my case)?

Who has them and what are your experiences with them? Value for money and any recommendations please...

Check this out for the SFS ones: http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/446006.aspx
You can see my comment at the bottom of that thread. Don't know how much they cost though.
Allard do a kit as well, but that's about £350.
You've seen my thread with the custom pipework so you can make your own mind up.
To be honest, the only reason I did it was to get rid of the crappy VW connections that are prone to blowing off as mine were worn. The gains from doing it are very small I'd say and would only be maximised by having a custom remap done.
Your choice mate.

Cheers for the response. When you say a custom remap, how do you mean? I fully intend on getting a remap, from Rtech, you mean it would be better once remapped or better with a 'custom' remap? I don't see how...please explain :)
