My Dad,
Was a secret radio operator during WW2, based a lot of the time at Bletchly Park, intercepting coded morse messages, German and Russian! he was also able to send coded morse messages, duplicating the style of the German/Russian operators, fooling them with mis-information.
On D-day he was assigned to land on "Utah beach" with American 101st Airborne and was attached to "Easy company" to push forward well behind enemy lines... ring any bells?
Was directly involved with Allied forces, in the liberation of Bergen-Belsen concentration camp... this haunts me to this day, to think he saw what he saw.
Was also directly involved in "The Battle of the Bulge"
He joined the Army just before his 15th birthday (lied about his age) and was all done just after his 21st birthday at the end of the war... makes you think!
Very proud of my Dad, who passed away 3 years ago
