As above, only picked up my new GTD on Tuesday from Lee at Cheltenham VW and specifically did not want leather, same when i had my MK5 GTI I was only interested in cloth. Wouldn't have said no to the free bluetooth though as i just had to buy a hit from a member on here.

^+1. Each to their own and it's very much a personal thing but I don't like leather either and given the choice, would always have cloth (and did!).

Leather;
Advantages; looks good when new and wipes clean.
Disadvantages; hot and sticky in summer, questionable quality of VW leather, goes saggy and creases, scuffs easily - not zip and button-friendly, much of the leather's plastic leather and until now, has been very expensive (would rather have Xenons any day).

Cloth;
Advantages; cool in summer and warm in winter, GTi / GTD cloth-clad seats are much more grippy than slippery leather, iconic design of the Jacara trim looks classy and helps lift the dark interior, more durable and hard wearing.

Disadvantages; none that I can think of.

Really like the Jacara in my GTD - one of the nicest cloth interiors I've had.

2020 Polo GTI Plus; Pure White, DSG (because they all are)
Gone but not forgotten;
2016 Polo GTI; Blue Silk
2011 mk6 Golf GTD; Carbon Grey
2007 mk5 Golf GT (2.0 170bhp TDI version); Deep Black Pearl
2002  mk4 Golf GTI (the 150 bhp diesel version); Deep Black Pearl

VW must be trying to get rid of stocks of their cheap and nasty plastic leather. :evil:

No way will I ever buy a car with leather as it always looks sh1t eventually.

It's weird, this Golf anti-leather thing that's going on.  My leather isnt plastic feeling, or cheap looking. I clean it and condition it every time I detail the car.

The leather is supple, granted not as supple as top end German cars and the Jag XF but it's not as bad a people make out IMO.  I bought my car second-hand and would never have paid that much for the option.

I too don't like leather, when ever you pics of Golfs with leather it allways seems to look saggy and worn. It ages the car. The money for leather would be better spent on Xenon's or the sat nav system, much more usefull.

I certainly agree with you should spend your hard earned on something other than leather.....

Jacara is just going on holiday, I'd like to think it's a snowboarding holiday as it's Winter and it's sporty, will be back in time for the Mk7 Launch!  Looking more gnarly than ever.

Jacara, I salute you!

Now, where's the bottle opener got too....
