ill give it a try with bumper on i like doing things the hard way.   You might get a bit of oil out the bottom pipe ,it got me when i first changed my boost pipes and made a small mess on the carpet ,that what you get for laying under it and removing it .

You may well get the old one off with the bumper on but as soon as you begin to fit that new chunky beast up there you'll need more space.

right think i am going to get mine order now to replace the pancake pipe will i have to take inner arch of to get to this and i take it these pipes go to the egr valve is this correct sorry to sound stupid but this is the first time i am going to attempt this

The pancake pipe joins to the charge pipe that goes up the back of your engine. Yeah defo need the inner arch off.
you dont need to take inner arch off i didnt ,look under car you will see it .

Stock SMIC can leak on the end tank joins as they are plastic.

Anyways I sold my Forge and bought a Turborevs ice and felt no difference TBH. I need a FMIC now though, which will be here by the end of the week hopefully  :smug:

Don't understand why people don't listen to advice:

SMIC is a waste off time in upgrading, the stock unit is very good, problem is the lack off air flow entering/going through the IC, which is why a FMIC benefits, as it has a bigger area of the core exposed. It was proven on the Australian autospeed magazine tuning on the PD engines as they are far more on boost compared to the petrol counterpart.

Why do you think Wazzer is finally going to get a FMIC setup over a SMIC?

Also regarding your pancake issue make one with a 50-60mm reducer and some 50mm polished aluminum pipe like I did one upon a time.

One 90degree pipe 50mm

One 45degree pipe 50mm

One silicone 50-60mm reducer

One Silicone 50mm joining piece

Five jubilees as I found the current one(s) heavily corroded.
