The theory I understand but it seems too much hard work for a road car. For track cars and racing cars I completely understand but to have the power band so far up the rev range seems a bit daft for everday use.

Drop a vtec into you're current shell, just be prepared to baffle the stealers when you book it in for a service

Good thread though

Perfct for everyday use as it pootles around all day every day at low revs and is more fuel efficient. Then when you want to let loose you kick it down a LEAST one gear and hit themis pedal and as for nothing till 6000rpm?? What? They kick from around 4800 and best change up at around 7600

And Kells, Type-R standard against modded mk3 golf....boat engine conversions don't worry the Honda boys...they still wouldn't be deemed a tugboat  :tongue:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FFrAIJDVxxs&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Would not waste fuel on standard type R lol

One I did smoke tho was one of the better ones. a R reg White import only type R. Was at the lights and then into the mad mile which is a great stretch. Smoked it at the lights and left it for dead. His was modified as we stopped to admire each others cars. He freely admitted he had no chance of catching me and thought mine was just a 8v that he would easily embarrass haha
