golf 1.8t gearbox/scoda octavia 1.8t

Hi everybody! my gearbox has gone in my mk4 1.8t 5speed 150bhp agu.. & theres a skoda octavia 1.8t 5speed 180 bhp in my local scrap yard does any body know if this box will be the same as the one i've took off? it looks the same just want to know for sure.. so if anybody has done a conversion from one of these, or audi a3 1.8t, leon 1.8t, skoda etc.. could u please let me know. as long as its 5speed im thinkin it should be ok? thanks paul!

im not sure of the engine code on the octavia? but i know its a 5 speed like my golf so it would be the same? im not sure if engine code matters.. the box looks exactly the same.

ohh ok.. where would i find the code on the box? so if the codes different i should'nt buy the box... thanks for ur replies!

lol i cant make sense of all those codes i could'nt find a code on my old gearbox neither? it is mounted in the passenger side of the engine bay.. not in the center in front of the fire wall like on the passat 1.8t.. im unsure of what to? but they only want £100 for it so its worth a try if i get problems with it i can take it back off & get my money back. thanks again for your help!

Octavia 1.8t including vRS (AUQ) is 5spd, they never got the 6 spd box so will be a straight forward fit.

So no problems with using it, I don't even think the ratios are different
