It could be worse , it has a better quality of life than most places in the world.

You have a welfare state that may not be perfect but does it's best which is still better than most countries

You have the NHS which is envied around the world

Politicians are for the most part honest

Same goes for the police

The weather and local geologic conditions don't try to kill you.

basically apart from pockets of run down deprived areas with run down deprived people it's alright.

once the recession is over I'd rather be there than here in Australia and day of the week.

The NHS isn't free. Its paid for out of taxation like every other service. And if you compare it to other health services you'll find that its actually not very good.

ok , be pedantic .
how many countries can you walk into a hospital ill or injured , be treated and walk out again without getting your wallet out ? It costs $90 just to visit a GP for 10 minutes here and you still have to pay a 1.5% a year medicare tax on top of that on your gross wage.

That uswitch poll is nonsense. they only compared 10 out of 27 eu countries.
If the rest of europe is so great why don't all the whinging tw4ts go and live there , there's nothing to stop them.

as shown in this thread the british are natural moaners and never happy with thier lot.

You do live in birmingham to be fair  :lipsrsealed:
And thats supposed to mean what, exactly? im a Brummie.. and bloody proud of it! im also a worker.. always have been. theres good and bad in every race creed and colour, but the biggest damage done to this Green and Pleasant is HAND-OUTS,
if you dont WANT to work and dont WANT to contribute to society, then fekk off !simples! those that think its a god given right to fleece those that DO work and DO contribute ought to be means tested at the very least.

At least I have one thing these lazy arsed fekkers dont and will never have.Pride that ive stood on my own two feet and not had to rely on hand outs for what i have.

Chill winston. Was being facetious, hence the smilie. OP took it as i meant

In my line of work, I think I'd be the first to hire foreign workers.

The attitude of some of the British public is a disgrace.

The minority always think theyre too good to stack shelves/make tea/ scrub the toilets.

I used to work with a polish guy and he would do 2x the work that 95% of my staff would.

Some of the polish are exceptionally hard workers, the drivers and drivers mates we had at TNT/Ceva, they'd have the same number of drops as other guys and be first back at base. Probably broke the speed limit and drove like nutters though

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

Indeed i find a lot of English people expect the world to be give to them & they deserve a living. I think you have to earn a living, some people just don't know how good they have it.

I wouldn't think twice about employing someone from another country hopefully they wouldn't whinge & moan as much as the people i work with lol
