Another golf
« on: 28 September 2011, 23:00 »
Hey guys,

Had some bad luck couple of Mondays ago, a lad decided to take his parents car out for a drive (Picasso) and proceeded to smash into the rear wheel of my 1.6 forcing the alloy in    ruined the axle and body work, so yeah write off. But after fairly quick payout managed to get another golf, was going to get a T but apparently aviva wont insure me on one .. So a black 1.8 3 door, brought it mega cheap with many, many problems but getting through them now (brought yesterday).. Anyways quick pic's when got it home:

Quite a big difference in power compared to my 1.6, and I thought that didn't do bad. rite, question time!
Is there an easy way to remove wing mirror glass and replace? and the drivers door has dropped, quite a lot. Any way of adjusting without replacing parts?

Thanks.

Sorry for delayed reply, been working on it late past few nights  :nerd: yeah rio had not much luck to be honest, my first car was stolen too, so don't have much luck  never got anything from the woman who bumped me on car park though.. Cheers for advice on mirror went scrappys and replaced it the other day.. Yeah insurance is ridiculous paying 100 a month now.. Yeah body work ain't bad tbh, loads of smallish problems though most sorted now.. No history at all but know it's had cam belt and clutch recently.. Got 75k on clocks but no way is that accurate, text check said 113k  thanks for replies.

Just read through the whole thread Bullzeye! super nasty situation, glad you got it sorted.. I hpi checked this and checked all vin numbers etc and all seems fine, just think it doesn't have genuine miles though..
