Wasn't really trying when i did this. ~11 miles into a 14 mile daily commute.

Average to a tank normally works out at around 34mpg due to heavy congestion on the way home. The previous commuter mule i was using, a TDI130 was doing ~44mpg per tank.

So we have summarised gti mixed driving 30-35 mpg? Snoop you must of been coasting that gti at 50 mph to get it in that region.

Not really i have lots of sets of traffic lights to go through on 99% 30mph limits on the way to work. That was the first stretch were i would have stopped once (papershop) and hit 7 sets of traffic lights. Was not trying that hard until the last mile before that photo as i realised how low the fuel was. The last few miles after that photo is were i have to cross through the centre of town with all its lights and crossings etc which is what kills my fuel consumption down to ~40mpg or less. If i drove it to the gear change lights only and used lighter throttle it would have done better...
