engine starting problem

hi when i go to start my gti it turns over for a while before starting, is this normal or when i put the ignition on do i need to let the ecu's etc let themselves get ready(if that makes sence)

Mine starts straight away mate, i'd get it in the dealer.

i had a similar problem before my engine tried to eat itself.... get it checked out asap

Depends how long I leave it stood, it does turn over a few times before it fires when i have left it a week.

my missus takes it to work every day its doing maybe 40 miles per day
