I feel sorry to those who waited for this to upgrade! haha!
Why? I'm upgrading from a 3GS to a 4S. It'll be awesome!

Yeh for u but for iphone 4 users not really worth it IMO but IOS 5 will be good

But the same happened when the 3Gs was introduced. It's because most people will now opt for a 2 year contract, major release every two years no matter what phone you get i.e 3-4, 3gs-4s.

bingo

they like to milk it milk it

Not so much milk it, fanboys/girls (lets not be sexest) like to circulate rumours.

that is also true. well all know how its the apple boys that like to make most noise! could that be because there are so many of them??? I dont think so..

so to summarize..no redesign, no bigger screen, a personal assistant app (Siri) thats 2 years old! and a hefty price tag... looks like next gen htc's wil be light years ahead

I often wonder why people never expect sarcastic comments from me - they're the only reason I speak...

I took that figure as 5% of mobile phones EVER sold are iphones. Not as in last year only 5% were iphones. If its ever then its pretty impressive.

Ever sold? No. Otherwise that'd be almost every person holding one right now.
Guestimated in use, currently? Sure, but that's a guestimate provided by all the carriers over the world or just in the US, did they clarify WW or US?

Lots of stats spouted by companies at launch events give an insight into things, but are usually just there to wow people and hide the truth.

Sure the Mac grew 23% last year and the PC 'only' grew 4%, but that 4% ( 40,000,000 machines) of 1 billion+ users is larger than 23% (2,800,000 machines) growth of a product line that's around 7% (~70,000,000 machines) of the total computer market.

So if Apple are so happy and boasting about 23% now, what about the 32% growth in 2008? Is it slowing down, increasing or  stabilizing? and percentage points changing accordingly? Most likely increasing a bit in reality, heck I've had 2 customers [out of 400+ PC's] buy Mac laptops this year (both regret it due to the learning curve, PC World sold it to them though).

Make sense?

Percentages, not what they're  cracked up to be :nerd:

Any actual pictures yet?

Looks like an iphone 4, feels like an iphone, different internals and 2 antennae (the iphone 4 band and internal, swaps 'seamlessly' depending on how you hold it).

Just been on the Apple website, doesn't look too bad but was looking forward to the glass back going. The new voice activated feature looks decent but doubt it'd get used much.
