I asked the VW dealer and they seemed to think the alloy nuts were ok on steel. I had heard that before though, so I'm not convinced. Maybe you can't use steel nuts on alloy, but the other way round is ok!?!
Yes, if someone does have a part number for the Caddy centre caps, that would be most appreciated.
Right, I've been to see the Caddy which is filthy, it was dark, freezing cold and the cap took most of the skin off my thumb when I prized it off, so you owe me one!!
