hi guys, a while back i bought a new ECU for my 1.8 20v mk4 non-T, my mate and i suspect its the ecu that is the cause of the problems ive been having, well with this new ecu, weve fitted it, but my mates vagcom cant over ride the immob, so we can start the car, but then it just cuts out, its the exact replacement ecu

apparently, we need to delete some code to get past the immob?!? is it possible for you guys to have a better look and get the new ecu working?

my current issue is that it wont rev past 4500revs, however when the engine gets to running temp, this reduces to 4k revs

cheers

you just need to match the SKC from your new ecu to your instrument cluster.

do you know the skc?

if its a 20v NA it should be immo2 so you won't need the skc. Takes 10 seconds with vagcom, guide is on the rosstech site.

As Chris said its a 2 min job via VCDS to set the immo adaptions, and he is only down the road from you..

With your old ecu did you get ant fault codes?
