Hi there I have just bought an iPhone cradle and was just wondering if the cigarette lighter socket turns off after so long as it's a bit of a chore to keep taking out ,left it in last night for 5mins with the engine off and was still lit up ,,,,,

Nope, will stay on all the time as long as its getting current draw which it will from an iPhone charger.
