Mk2 Gti 16v....Fitting polished 42mm inlet etc
« on: 23 April 2005, 12:40 »
Hi folks,

Just purchased a polished inlet manifold, head and rocker cover for my totally standard Mk2 16v.

The new parts are 42mm which I take it is smaller than standard?

As I am intending to have a full top-end overhaul what parts would you suggest are purchased and replaced....and I will need smaller gaskets, right?  Can I get these easily from VW etc?

Much obliged....as technical newbie all advice much appreciated!

Duncan

p.s.

Anybody know a good specialist in West Central Scotland?

yeah they are smaller which will affect power output cos of restricting the engines flow characteristics,i think the smaller manifolds were fitted in the us cos their emissions laws are stricter than ours i think our ones are 52mm but im not sure so dont quote me on this! ed
