Pipercross panel filter, should I clean or replace?
« on: 22 September 2011, 22:01 »
Hey guys

I have a Carbon Speed air intake fitted to my car, and it came with a Pipercross panel filter. The filter is pretty dirty now so ether needs to be cleaned or replaced.

Just wanted to get some opinions, should I clean the filter with the Pipercross cleaning kit, or should I replace it? If you guys think it’s better to replace it, what panel filter would you recommend?

Thanks Dave

It should be fine after cleaning. Wash out all the dirt with water and cleaning kit. I find giving the foam a squeeze can help shift some more dirt. Then leave it dry with a light coating of the spray stuff in the cleaning kit. I left mine dry in the sun for the day.

Clean it! Don't overdue the oil (if supplied with the kit) though or you will contaminate your MAF.

So everyone thinks, stay with the Pipercross and not go for say a K&N panel filter?

Pipercross are much more MAF friendly than K&N
