Stage 2 Question

Was looking at getting a stage 1 map on my Gti but since bought a induction kit.
Was wondering is it just downpipe and decat needed to go stage 2? or do you need uprated intercooler or ?

If its just downpipe and decat i may try obtain this before remapping. Dont really want to get cat back system want to try keep it as quiet as possible.

What sort of power would it make? 260?

Any help is much appreciated.

I got 260bhp from a full decat exhaust with miltek cat back, evoms intake, new divertor valve.
I'm sure you need to get a cat back system as the standard system is restrictive, I may be wrong though.

Cheers chris. Yeah i was worried about that as seen how restrictive the backbox part is.

Who mapped yours if you dont mind me asking, seen your from bham as well. I was going to take mine R-Tech

Had mine done at r-tech, they are really good and well worth a visit, never read a bad word about them on here.
The back box on the standard exhaust is huge should make a difference changing it, try a resonated miltek, they are quiet, not much louder than the standard one.
Worth changing the divertor valve too as they are prone to splitting

Yeah going to pick up a revision D before getting it mapped as will only save me doing it after when standard one breaks lol

Been R-Tech a few times with other people, is it nick down there? certainly knows his stuff. Seen there on this site so may drop them a pm

Hey, I got my remap from JKM Performance, They are a VW specialist and done a quite a few GTI. I got a Stage one done last week and my god it makes a difference  :laugh:. The only problem is if your tyres are worn out your back end will be slipping due to the increase of power.

You should fit a cat back to ensure you get the best out of your map - your EGT's will be high and this will reduce power.
