PD 100 or PD 130?

Been looking for a new car for a few months now (either a tdi golf or bora). Have had no luck for month's, but this week two bora's have came up for sale Not been to see either yet, and they are about 100-150 miles apart.

One is a 130 sport, 03 plate, 107,000, 1 owner, looks really tidy and been told there is no rust etc, FSH, 11 months mot. It's up for £2500

The other is a 100 Highline, 04 plate, 109,000, 2 owner's, looks really tidy and been told there is no rust etc, but is a 5 pence sized bent on the arch, FVWSH with the same dealer since new, 11 months mot. It's up for £2900

Trying to work out the best on to go and see first. Leaning more towards the highline, just because of the better spec.

But how do the PD 100's cope with motorway speeds (70-80mph) mpg wise, is there a big difference over a PD 130? Better or worse? Thought the 130 might be a bit better mpg wise on a motorway? But if there's not a massive difference it's not going to matter.

No point contemplating it go for the fastest diesel you can and you'll still be getting 40 plus mpg

Get the 130 everyday of the week. I have a 150 and return over 54mpg doing 80 on the motorway and even better when driving sensibly!

Not really they suffer camshaft problems.

130 is a good all round choice.

130 all the way.  Then a quick remap = 165 and still get great mpg if not better.

If you can go 4 the 150, love myn, if I run it on v power can get over 50 mpg running about.

And it's plenty fast enough tamed a few  Clio 197, and type rs

As already said the 130bhp is a good lump mines a 115bhp had issues with it but to be fair issues caused by last owner other wise its great my dads 130bhp has a Rtech remap and it really shifts I hear the 150s have choclate cams friend of mine has one and his had to have the cams done on his but I spose alot depends on how the cars been looked after service history etc..

Mine is a 150, if you're choosing between those go for the 130, I reckon the 100 would feel too slow for very little difference in economy also
