my old mx5

well ive been on this since 9 this morning and just got in from the garage now, heres a sneak preview

going down at 6 in morning to get the red and clear on before anyone else gets there

yeah the 5 looked good in pics but up close it was a bit of a mess tbh, still made money from it when i sold it so not all bad. the 5 i had before that was immaculate, and was making 250bhp

put a couple more coats of white on before i left, its only a base to make sure the red all comes out the same shade and as bright as poss, then its a good few coats of 2k laquer for good measure!!

Just checking - this is being sprayed red on a white base coat???

Yeah, doors are a different colour altogether so paint place reckoned put a base down first. Why?

It's just that red is notoriously difficult to get right on a white base. Oddly enough black is often used.

I've always put red over a White base, makes it really bright so since I was doing whole car thought why not.

well ive just got in from a long old day on this, was down at the garage at 6am!! absolutely destroyed!

same again tomorrow

had major grief with spray gun and water in compressor but thats a different story all together, needless to say i WILL NEVER paint another car lol.

anyways il let pics do talking, got the car and the tailgate done, need to do doors and bonnet tomorrow
