this is why i did mine myself, then i know its been done to a good standard.. some companies just throw them in. cut corners etc..  plus they wont clean them. not saying these guys will because i have no idea if they are any good. but for 5k id want a conversion that looks like mine...

In other news, I heard the Pope's catholic.

Seems reasonable if you're paying for an insured firm to do a complete job, properly as they would have to have public liability insurance for their work, as well as they would need to warrantee their work for a reasonable period, too.

It's comparable from the T25 world:

Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

They have done a few before and I know of a baby blue caddy done by them that was pretty well done. As for the price, mugs are everywhere and DH does make a good point about liability and insurance.....

agreed on this one being as i know the costs of public and employers liability alone for works such as this

give them a call ask them on the warrantee of the conversion.. its 6 month

i got that on my engine too...and i know what car my engine came from, the true mileage and that it was not from a front ended crash...plus i got all the original clocks and paperwork for it and i know the engine inside out

i really wouldn't want to put my trust in them or any company, I'm too picky and in my opinion, 5k for a standard 1.8T is a lot.. especially when you don't know any history of said engine apart from its probably come from a written off car..  They break VWs so its obvious the engines come from crashed cars.

Cant be arsed to quote older threads as i don't have the time but i recall Thomas spouting on about engines from front ended cars been no good  loads in the past

Better of doing it yourself (if you can).. if your not confident its safe go get the work checked out by a reputable garage afterwards.. iv had mine looked at and people don't believe we did the work.. I'm sure those who have seen it can vouch for it too

in a nutshell, probably is reasonable price as its a big job. but for 5k you could have a low mile top spec lump under your hood if you did it yourself
