squeeky wipers - help!

Well I changed the blades and cleaned the screen. I even clay barred it! The squeaking has reduced but it still does it a little bit.
I'm leaving it into the dealers tomorrow anyway to investigate wind noise from the driver's door, so I'll ask them to look at the wipers while they're at it.

What's the noise from the drivers door mate?

Since I've been driving I've always used Methylated spirits and never had a squeaky blade in my life.

People changer wiper blades because they smear the screen as they wipe because they think the blade must be worn out. Just put some Methylated spirits on a kitchen roll\towel and wipe the blade rubbers you will see the cloth go black now thats the black coming of the rubber as well as any traffic film the blades have been clearing. Now the black stain will always come of the blades so don't keep cleaning until its clear. Wipe the windscreen glass as well. Methylated spirits is far cheaper than these overpriced glass cleaners and a bottle will last for years.

Oh I forgot to say you don't have to clean them weekly I do mine every couple of months or when it starts to smear again. Plus if you are short of booze you can always have a swig.

Slightly excessive wind noise, only particularly noticeable on the motorway. The door used to creak a little when the body flexed going around corners but that seemed to go away on its own.

The smell is irrelevant when your only cleaning the blades and screen you aren't having a bath in it or maybe you are?  If the smell bothers you that much then get one of those air freshners you hang from the mirror that annoy most people?

I can smell the bloody thing from a mile away. It lingers in my nostrils for days.
