Hate the F***ing rain and Turtle Wax Colour Magic
« on: 18 September 2011, 17:40 »
When I got home from college on thursday I spray foamed my car and then gave it a good going over with the pressure washer with the turbo lance to get any chunky debris off it.

The next day after college I bought some Turtle Wax Colour Magic as recomended by the guy in the local motor store. I then hand washed the car (twice), and put it in the garage and got straight to work hand polishing it. I spent the rest of the day working on it and finished it a something past 3 in the early hours.

Next day I go in to the garage and the garage roof had leaked (as it often does) in various patches on the car and left browny rain drop marks on it... So i got the hose on the affected areas and went round the corner on my bike and got some fake chamois leather things for a quid so that I could dry it quickly and re polish the affected areas and then get the car waxed.

When I'd finished drying all the water off it I noticed that all the water droplets from the leaky roof and the hosing down had left f***ing marks all over the car from where the water had beaded... and they aren't exactly the easyest thing to polish out for some reason. Nevertheless, I got to work repolishing all of the affected areas, (pretty p***ed off by now) I'd just finished the bonnet and was just moving onto the front wing, when the F***ing sky decides to pi$$ all over my f***ing car...and now my freshly polished car is covered in this:

And I know I'm not the only person this has happened to, but FFS I spent the whole day hand polishing the damn thing and then this happens... GGGGRRRRRRAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
Rant over.

buy a drying cloth/towel and some good quality wax (collinite is my current no1)

when you wash dry with a towel (you shouldnt get water marks when it dry's then) and then give it a coat or few of wax... rain etc should then bead and not dry into the marks you have

Yeah I tink I'll be taking it back to the knobjocky that sold it to me.

What is the best polish for METALLIC paint out there?
waxmomo and collinite seem popular by the sounds of things. You'll probably have guessed I'm new to the world of detailing

I 'avin some of that, it sounds pretty durable and at a fair price too.

Is T-cut metallice any good?
