I have a long list of problems with my mk 4 golf. It is the GT TDI 115 3dr version.

I have 18 inch OZ wheels and the car is lowered something ridiculous to the stage I cant have more than 2 passengers in my car without the car arching and it is very uncomfortable. It is lowered with coilovers and I dont know the make of them. I want to make the car back to the standard version suspension, Is this an expensive job? Anyone know where a good place to get second hand parts would be?

Next problem  , My traction control and ABS light do not come on when I start the car, traction control and ABS is also not working. Any ideas on what has happened here?

Last one, The handbrake light flashes and there is 3 beep's just before the light starts flashing. I checked the brake fluid and it is fine, I am stumped as to what to do. I am saving up some money and will drop the car into my local VW garage but I would like to be armed with knowledge before I go.

Thanks to anyone that read all of that, your help would be greatly appreciated

From my experience hand brake light coming on and bleeping is low brake fluid. Perhaps it is a knackered sensor...

As for springs you should be able to pick up some 2nd hand OEM springs and shocks on here mate, if not ebay. Fitting them is tough on your own, and I have heard its about a £100+ job for a garage! Good luck with the other problem!

Thanks Scarr89, Would the OEM springs and shocks be higher and softer on the car yes?

Yes standard suspension will be higher and softer. If you have coilovers why don't you just raise the ride height a bit and see what that's like.

If you keep your eye out on the classified section standard suspension often comes up for not a lot of money. I had 18's on my Mk4 with standard suspension and tbh it didn't look right. Would be better off with some decent springs and shock with about 35-40mm drop.
Mk1 Leon Cupra TDI - Keeping
Mk5 Golf GTI - Revo Stage 1 - FOR SALE £5,250
Mk3 GTI 16v Anniversary - OEM+ - Gone :(
Mk4 GTI 2.0 - Slow - Good Riddance

Thanks, I got offered springs and shocks from a 1.9tdi toledo, The guy is saying that these are the same. Is this correct, standard tdi the same as GT/Highline TDI golf??

No.  The GT / Highline sit lower than a standard TDI
