ive ordered a set of these, maxton are a reasonable brand that ive used on my bikes before.
i know they are not exactly koni etc which used to have on my mk2 golf...but i think 25% stiffer cant be a bad thing considering how crap mk4 suspension is.

aslo consider the bigger the wheels, the less of a drop you will have.. hard to epxlain. you will still drop by the ammount the kit says but if i had 13" wheels my sills would be on the floor but if i had 19"s i would have about 6" between the floor and sills if you get me..

Really? Because if you do it properly you should change the profile of the tyres whenever you change the size of the rims, this is to maintain the rolling radius of the wheel the same.

The arch gap should be the same regardless of the size of the rim.

suppose you have a point! all depends what you start with and what you decide to use, of course if the rolling radius is the same then that issue wouldnt arise! just going from when i bought an wheel and tyre package years ago i had the issue of the geometry being out.
if you did start off with say 14" wheels they must have a massive tyre wall compared with say anni bbs wheels.. i would have thought the rolling radius of golf 1.4 wheels and anni wheels would be totally different?. so, say you had a 1.4, lowered it, then decided you wanted anni wheels, what size tyre would you use then as the aspet ratio of anni wheels is already low.
then of course you would have to sort your speedo out via vag-com.

Nope because as the wheel size goes up the tyre profile drops to keep the rolling radius the same.

ah right, i get it.. so the rolling radius on the 1.4 steelies is the same as the 18" bbs anni wheels?.
