Seat bases different?
« on: 21 April 2005, 20:08 »
I'm just about to start rebolstering my drivers seat, and am wondering whether VAG changed the design of the frame suring Mk 2 production.  My old seat (88) seems to have a bar under the side bolster, (?) but the one I took out of a '90 Mk 2 in a scrappy doesn't.  Is this correct?  Can I fit the newer cushion, or do I have to go back and hunt for a drivers seat base?

there were a few slightly different styles, the late ones had a recaro style seat so you may have picked one of them. nice seats too!! the easiest thing to do if your unsure is to find a similar age one and get the bolsters off the passenger seat.
team grumpy....... its a way of life, not a forum post

Will have a play around and see what fits.  Was hoping to put my (undamaged) cover on the new bolster cushion.  Fingers crossed!  Either that or it is a trip back to scrappy.  They seem to have a good turnover of Mk 2s in there.....
