Can someone suggest the best way to remove the rubberised coating from the centre console prior to painting

Hot soapy water and a scouring pad it comes off easy

it will scratch the plastic i found this when starting to remove the soft touch on hte door card, so i stopped and i havent found another way to remove it without scratching it yet!!!!!

i rubbed the rubber off my door handles with a scouring pad and it scratches but had a idea
p1200 wet/dry bit of time then a trizac 3m p3000 pad then buffed it up with a mop and compound can see my face in it lol

I used some "Armor All" interior wipes and a bit of elbow grease. Took a bit of doing but looks good, no scratches

I used a small bit of white spirit and it comes off pretty easily. not sure its the best thing to use but has worked really well on mine and doesn't scratch the console at all
