mk3 steering wheel?

i'm in the process of getting my 91' 8v roadworthy, it has the g60 style leather steering wheel but the stiching is shot, i have seen an early non airbag steering wheel from a mk3 gti in one of my local scrappies, its the 3 spoke style like they put in corrado's. will it fit my car? i believe mine is the big style splines, any input or advice would be greatly appreciated!
