Hey

What speakers and where abouts does everyone have them in their MK2?

Just got my GTI and only have the 2 speakers in the dash - which are pathetic!  Will be upgrading speakers soon - does anyone have any recommendations about what size of speakers i should be getting and where to put them?  ( I don't want to go OTT - was thinking along the lines of front speakers and 6x9s in parcel shelf.

i've got a set of 6x9's in the parcel shelf with some jbl components up front in some audioscape door pods. i put the tweeters in the wing mirrior covers like this:


but to be honest the 6x9's are a bit weak so will be sorting out a sub/amp once the cars back together!

Sounds awesome for the money I paid.  Its defo worth getting a proper stealth shelf as drilling holes in the stock one not only looks crap but will sound crap too, ideally you want a solid base for the speakers.  Plus no-one will beable to see them so less chance of a pikey putting a brick thru your window!

I have 13cm alpine 2ways in door pockets and 12" sub powered by 4 channel amp
