Reliable!
« on: 11 September 2011, 21:09 »
I have to post this because i am well chuffed with my mk2.

I went on my hols mid august, left the keys to the mk2 with my dad, MOT due whilst im away

back off my hols, good news mk2 flew threw MOT, 1300 miles between certificates.

dad done a good job

Decided i would take it a run saturday, took the kids to telford ice rink. There and back never missed a beat  motorway too so she could stretch her legs

Went out for lunch today at a local pub pulled on the car park and there was an AA flat bed pulling a 59 reg golf on its bed.

It makes me smile to think my mk2 can keep up easily with todays traffic, be reliable and is 23 years old!

and it probably dont owe me any more than £700.

   Happy days........

D'you know, I really ought to do that with mine more often. It's all too easy just to jump in one of the already dirty 'modern' cars and go, than it is to take the cover off and get the old Golf out of the garage.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

No, they'll hit you in succession, one after another!

While my Golf didn't give us much trouble when it was on daily duties, the Passat has given less and is just so well rounded that I have to contest the 'modern cars' thing.  I'd also rather have an accident with the family in the Passat than the Golf.... although I'd rather not have the accident in the first place!
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.
