I must admit, sagged, shagged and shiny leather seats look vile.

What is clear to me is that in my particular case a bum (cheek) job is the order of the day.

I suppose you've all got well padded posteriors that don't wreck seats.

Seeing that yours has failed so early, I wonder if others are going to suffer wear like Mk1 and 2's do/did as they get older.

At least with the older cars, at the moment you can buy a mint passenger seat for very little money and swap the bits over in no time at all. That's all good whilst there are still plenty of doner cars around. However, how many Mk6's will still be around in 20 years time? I'm sure frazzled electronics will render them scrap long before then.
Red Mk6 gone replaced with a white Mk7 which has gone too. Green Mk2 here to stay.

My mk6's bolster is showing ware to the point im tempted to buy a replacment cover for the time it does go through.
Its funny i have owned my mk1 for 20 years now and its bolster looks less worn after 60,000 miles/20years of me getting in and out of it (93K total) than the mk6 one does after 6000 miles. Yet im told by VW its normal ware and tear.

The way mk5's are rusting most mk6's will be a pile of brown dust, if not crushed because of over priced electronic spares.

I have been looking for a good mk2 and I did not even realise there was so many piles of over priced crap as there are, some owners are way deluded.
