Be careful usually they replace just the seat cover!!!

Dropped in to see the Warranty Manager at her house which is 10 dooors down the street from mine. She is so stunningly good looking.
They will replace the seat cover and not the whole base.
I am accused of having a bony arse!
The Japenese technician, who is meticulous and who has done a few seat-cover replacements, will be attending to my car.
Good enough for me.

maybe you should see if whilst the Japanese guy attends to your seats, she can attend to your boney arse for "destroying an icon"

tsk!

Good news then.  Yes your new picture did make it look worse.

Make sure the new one matches, fabric wise.

@Mr_F: The fabric tear is at the front edge of the seat and nowwhere near my bony bottom. She should stop looking at my cute bottom and pay more attention to my seams. I did try and explain to her that my backside was quite far removed from the tear in the cloth and the undone stitching. But she kept looking at my bottom and would have none of it. Anyway, she agreed that the fabric will be replaced under warranty. BTW, the Japanese tech is 6'4" tall, also got a bony arse (I know, I should not have looked!) and looks like a male model. He's worked on my car before and is an immaculate worker.

@p3asa: She did confirm that there should be no matching problems as they have replaced a few on much older cars than mine. However, knowing my luck, I'll get the short straw. Hope they don't screw anything else whilst they are at it. Again, knowing my luck, they probably will and it won't give me much pleasure.

All this because of my bony arse.

Today, I gave the car in for a new driver's seat base cover replacement.

They found that the foam had split underneath and have ordered a new foam seat base which will arrive tomorrow.

I told them that the foam had split but they did not agree with this initially.

Car will be ready tomorrow or Monday. So, it's a boiling weekend on Pubic Transport for me. Nice.

The good news is that you won't have this problem if you buy another new GTI as they don't do Tartan seats anymore

Careful on the public transport after last time chap

Not quite true, Doc.
You see, I do have a bony arse and two bum bones stretch the leather considerably.
I have destroyed every leather seat I perched on.

Can't win, unless I get some implants stuck in my posterior.

The condition prevents me from sitting on a hard park bench whilst clothed in my flasher mac.
