Because I said you've posted it on a few forums? Can't see how that required your rude post.....

Me neither tbh, help and sarcasm

You didn't use the word "posted" you said "spammed" which is a completely different context. If you didn't want anything to do with the group buy I am trying to organise, don't post. Don't deliberately try to antagonize me and then whinge when I bite either

You've took it the wrong way and obviously got the hump. I never said I wasn't interested and I even said I was interested on E38 but at a better % discount. If you go about ur life 'biting' at people you won't get very far and personally I refuse to deal with people who obviously have no manners and are completely rude from the go. Good luck with the 'group buy'.

Front mount intercooler :nerd:

I'll chuck a link up once I'm allowed on the PC

Your allowed mate (?) please link away as I'm sure most MK6ers have no idea what this is even about.

Have a look about the other threads its more about: tomatos, dealers, the dreaded winter tyre thread!, gays etc etc!

And all the better for it too!!
The trouble is not many people will modify such a new car too drastically. All mk6 GTIs are still under warranty and most of them on here are probably on some sort of finance. Those that are on finance are probably on VW finance as they try and ram it down your neck as soon as you walk in a showroom and under the terms and conditions of the finance it probably says you can't modify your car. My GAP insurance also says this (though my car isn't under finance).
Plus many of us in this section are a little older and have been there and done that and found out that once you go past a stage 1 point of modifying you end up spending money left right and centre to keep the balance of performance vs handling vs brakes etc and the car just ends up a money pit. Once you get a bit older you can afford to insure things that are designed to go like that out of the box (whether you can afford to buy one is another matter!), so there's a big difference between the mk4 section, mk5 section which is becoming the new mk4 section and the mk6 section which is still in its chastity belt. Give it another couple of years and things will have moved on again ...

But still, there's no harm trying to drum up a group buy because there are still a minority of new car buyers that want to go the whole hog (and probably should have bought an R in the first place!) and have the means and desire to have a heavily modified GTI.

Funnily enough richyrb is one of those people (going from his little bit in VW Driver magazine a few months ago - it was you wasn't it?  :smug: ) and he's the one person who has just been a 'little put off'.

Anyway cars are f*cking boring so lets talk more about tomatoes!!!

Lol no comment :P.... Yes that was my ugly mug.. U should have seen my panic when I couldn't find my tripod.. Anyone got any ideas how I got that camera height? :P.  Tbh I took the car to the level where its got the poke I needed for as and when I did drive it and tbh.. I should drive it more often... What the article didn't say is that I also have a mk1 golf in the garage in bits, and a '88 porsche c3.2 with 22k on the clock. I think its also why I'm actually considering to sell the mk6 as after 5 years the classic car bug has finally hit me hard and I'm now after a 912 or a karman ghia but will wait till summer to start viewing cars. To put this post back on topic I would deff look at an upgrade on the intercooler as I find the high torque could be improved as it does drop off a lot and customising the map to tie everything together. Over all though an Rs4 was the best all round performance car, C63 for the stupidity of performance and fun. R8 was just a serious chic magnet, every car I've owned had its plus but daily drive and ability on the road I think the mk6 is perfectly balanced without going ott on cost. I didn't get an R because the bodystyling just never flowed right... Shame.
