Wheel bolt question

Right I have 25mm spacers on the back and 20mm on the front, holding the back are 50mm bolts, and the front 40mm.

I am about to order some more 50mm for the front, or should I order 60mm and swap the back to the front??

To work out the length you need i would put a standard bolt through a standard wheel and see how much it protrudes.

Whatever that measurement is it needs to be the same after you add the spacer.

So,for instance.If your standard bolt has a threaded part that is say 40mm long and 20mm of that thread protrudes through the back of the wheel you would need bolts with a 60mm threaded portion to use with 20mm spacers and 65mm for the 25mm spacers.

Do'nt forget that MK3 GTi uses M14 thread (5 stud) ,all other MK3's use M12 (4 stud).

Cheers for the reply, I've ordered me some more 50mm + locking bolts, got 9 full turns with 25mm spacer on back wheels.

The bolts are m14 x 1.5mm pitch so 9 full turns of the bolt equates to 13.5mm of bolt screwed into the hub

Yeah guy from speedshack said about 7/8 turns recommended
