rough running pinking and juddering

Was wondering wether anyone could help me on my golf I need to just find out what is wrong with it with its poor running, its done 167k.
Under load going up a hill at 35mph in 4th gear its is juddering/shaking and pinking?

I dont think its healthy driving in 4th up a hill full stop espically under load - you will jjust be labouring the engine - just general driving styles I guess.

Errm...have you tried changing Gears?

its not what you would call a steep hill guys! 
besides I would of thought the 8v 2.0 has enough torque to get it up there.
it does do it sometimes on flat roads as well.

I would also agree that 35mph in 4th is putting too much strain on the engine, especially if you have to put your foot to the floor. Try doing it in 3rd instead
