Golf Gti 2002 - Value in January 2010???
« on: 07 September 2011, 22:10 »
Hi
Prior to posting another message, would anyone know what the value of a 2002 VW Gti with 75K on the clock, good body, red. I would like to know how much the car was worth then. (sorry) MEANT TO PUT DATE how much was golf worth in 2010?
I am asking due to having an accident whilst the Golf was stationary, and the rear of the car was so badly damaged it could not be driven. The car was in garage for 16 weeks.
I would be very grateful for the above value info. Not 100% convinced that the car was valued at true market value and that the price was upped quite alot.
Would be very grateful to know how much this cars value was in January 2010.
Thanks

OK lets start again. I would like to know value of my car in January 2010. The car was involved in a rather bad accident, I felt it should have been written off BUT car was valued higher than repairs. Hence why car was repaired but I have had more than a few problems since I got it back in April 2010. The car in question is.................

VW Golf GTI (115 BHP) 5 door hatchback, petrol, 1984 CC, 2 axle rigid body, RED
First Registered in 9.1.2003.

The car was valued at £4,400 in January 2010. Repairs came to £3,800. I believed the car to be worth £3,500 in January 2010.

As on another post, my rear tyre, drivers side has had to be replaced 4 times since I got the car back in April 2010. The last tyre having been replaced 2 days ago.
I then had the car put through a vehicle allignment test. Which once again stated the car was alligned and why the tyre kept wearing on the inside was a mystery.

I hope someone can assist me. I feel by finding out the value of the car in January 2010, at the time it had 75,000 on the clock, it will be a start.
Clearly there is something wrong with this vehicle, for it to keep wearing the tread on the rear inside tyre.

Thanks

In Jan 2010 it would have been much more, I know I looked for them then

Anywhere from £3k to almost £5k when I was looking, though the ones closer to £5k were the 130 and 150's.

But for the purest engine experience, displacement has no replacement. All other methods are simply attempts to artificially recreate the benefits of displacement.

I was also keeping an eye on the prices back then as it was just before I bought my Mk3 and I was weighing up my other options. Pretty sure you couldn't pick up anything half decent for less than £4k
