Thanks for the replies

Get them towed by a mate to a breakers you should get at least 150 per car.
The problem there lies in that I'm in a rural location, no breakers yard, there is a guy (dont know who) who will pickup and trailer away cars (but its a round trip of over 200 miles) so I don't know how much that would get me.
is there anything wrong with any of the cars?
Well, this is where the problem lies as well in that I'm unsure:
1.4 K-reg:
The passenger wing near the sills is rusted completely into rather bendable (if not breakable) metal.
The sills seem mostly solid, but the screwdriver did go through one area (the car has the GTI side trim on, but underneath had been waxoyled or some such stuff to protect them, but it hasn't worked for all the metal).
Mechanically it's probably very good under the bonnet as it was owned by a family of mechanics, story about the 77k engine is that one of the sensors failed, so instead of replacing the sensor the owner replaced the entire engine.
1.9 P-reg:
If you turn the steering wheel in either direction, after a while it goes SPLOINGGGGGGgggg, I'm told by a VW mechanic that it could mean either there's a problem, or there's nothing wrong with it since he's had cars that did the noise which were fine, and others that were not so fine.
The brakes are probably in need of repair after it has sat for almost 18 months.
It still starts, and sounds okay when running.
No airbag, nor resistor so the airbag warning lamp is on.
Large rust holes have been welded on the chassis, but due to recent water ingress thanks to the wind ripping off my weather proofing bin bags, these have surface rust again.
Half-way through a respray, so it looks interesting - mix of old paint and new (hence why the doors were off when the rain happened and rusted the chassis again as mentioned above - unfortunately the wind and rain made it impossible to get it dry again till recently).
All the interior however was fine as it's sitting next to me indoors

Chief.
