couple of issues with my gti

Sometimes when I start the car the back windscreen wiper comes on even when it's dry. I'm aware the wiper wipes when you put it in reverse but it's happening when I'm in first gear or neutral.

This morning, it had been raining but had stopped. And it would not go off no matter what position I put the stalk in. I ended up having to stop the car and turn the engine off

Also, drivers side door window sometimes takes a few presses to get it to go back up after being fully open. I also have to hold the button all the way rather than just one press. It works fine when I'm putting it down.

The rear wiper issue you are talking about is a common fault on the MK5 and requires a new rear wiper motor - http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=41994.20

As for your window playing up mine did a similar thing. Its getting caught on something or causing too much friction when going back up so the car thinks that someone has their hand or something trapped. Try getting some WD40 over it and giving it a good clean, see if that clears it up.
