Whats it Worth?
« on: 05 September 2011, 14:13 »
Hi All,

I have had GTI's and mixed VW's but not for a while and i have been asked by mu uncle to sell his Golf GTI. As i have not bought one for some time i'm not sure what its worth. Please can you give me some serious ideas.

Golf GTI 8v MK3
One owner from new
53,000 yes only 53k
Not a single mark on the body and garaged every night
Dragon Green
3 Door
Totally standard as if it was just driven out the factory
Fully service history

I know its rare to find such a low mileage car and in perfect original condition.

Opinions welcome!

I'm only guessing here but if it's a minter then i'd say between £1,500 to £2,000.If it were mine i would put it on Ebay as a classified ad with best offer.I would list it at £3,000 to start with and see what offers i got, test the water sort of thing.

8v's are not as sought after as the others but being a 3 door with 1 owner, low mileage, service history etc it makes it quite rare imo.

Good luck.

Mileage makes sod all difference tbh, it is still a mk3 at the end of the day, I would say around £1200 to £1400 is about its money.

I agree, however the condition of the body does. Assuming it is completely rust free I'd advertise it for £1800 and expect to get around £1500
