how long do driving convictions stay on your licence for and is it the same length for all convictions?ie would 3points for a bald tyre stay on the same length as a disqualification or no insurance conviction?im just intrigued as i should be loosing 3points for a bald tyre this november as 3 years have passed

Isn't it they are 'active' for 3 years but you can't physically get them removed off your licence for 4.

Iirc, it stays on your Licence for 3 years, but recorded for 5 years, so Insurance companies can carry on taking the piss for a further 2 years!
Happy to be told otherwise though

I think the point is though that weather a conviction is spent or not doesn't matter as a lot of insurance companies ask you to declare any accidents or convictions within the last 5 years.

The "spent conviction" but "still active" time vary from one conviction to another.

It's defo 3 years on the licence then after 4 years you can apply to have them took off your licence. Drink driving stays on for 10 years though. But as said Insurance companies do ask if any convictions within the last 5 years.

Always good to keep speculating when someone's posted the definitive link to the length endorsements stay on your license.
