what is this advanced altererd curve to match cam? I took my tsr203 cam out because it ran so lumpy. Is there something you need to do to the ignition timing to get it better? Thanks

Sounds like some modification to a vacuum advance unit on an early dizzi, or something.

Get mappable ignition instead (like megajolt) and once done it'll run better anyway.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

erm  the 8v gti DIGI  dosent work with a vac advance dizzy   its just a pickup advance is applyed by the ecu.

would like piccys of the dizzy if it is vac advance type running on a digi ecu as thats a bit diffrent.

with a vernier to get the cam timeing spot on and maapable fuel and ignition you can get an 8 valve with a crazy cam to idel  very smoothly takes a while tho and imo uses more map sites than its worth

all the VW's have gone bar 1.

I fitted a vernier to my 8v. It cost me £150 to set up on the rollers. Transformed the car!!

A lot of people run megasquirt as its a DIY standalone but they are all pretty complicated or easy depending on your electrical skills
Mk4 Golf GTI anniversary and mk6 golf tdi :)
