ONLY 193bhp? Bit poor :(

Non the less it looks a mint motor, and at that price as Roy would say, its riiiiiiiiight.

Why is that poor?
Nearly 200bhp for a family car is pretty respectable

Just expected a bit more from 2.8L V6. Dont fancy a 1.8T Passat that will map to more than that and return considerably better MPG? Just thinking out loud here. Only plus side I can see to that is the 4motion.

Its a proper 90 degree V6, so its going to have alot more low down torque than a 1.8T or even a VR6.
Its also got a proper 4 wheel drive system, not the haldex unit

That's only peak power, not actual real power you'll get. It's the torque that's important and you'll get more proper torque from the 2.8l

To be fair i would be interested in 1.8T if it was 4 wheel drive, but its not available in that model.

Not sure about 24v vr6, but the 12v vr6 torque peaks at 4200rpm, on a genuine v6 the torque peaks out at about 3200rpm.
This is when you really feel the power kick in.
