rite story is summed up! need some help with understanding banks, overdrafts and the such!

i start uni in September and opened a student bank account well upgraded my standard bank account to student at my local lloyds tsb branch, fine everything was ok, asked about overdraft £500 instrest free, and credit card so i can use it just for fuel for the vr6, and pay it off at end of month!!

ive had a part time job bringing in 180 to 250 a week! left that job due to being pushed out! bastards and recently well infact this weekend i start, so rather skint at the moment untill next Thursday which will be my new pay day every week!

received a phone call yesterday saying they cannot offer me the overdraft or the credit card, fair doz not to arsed bout credit card! this is becase of something on my credit report! I HAVE NEVER BORROWED FROM BANK! or have any other means of debt!! never never never!!

i checked by credit history on credit expert and its in the excellent bracket!! they have told me this also as my student loan will be going into this account 1.5k every 4 months!!

any ideas anyone! im not to good with banks or what to do next! especially as skint till next Thursday really need some spare cash!

they wont give u a credit card/overdraft as you have never borrowed etc so you dont actualy have a credit file,
get a mobile phone contract or something like that to get ur file on the go

Shot in the dark,  but why dont you go into branch and ask them.  You'd be suprised with the effect that " I want to close my account" has.

Insurance will do nothing, the phone and broadband are probably £20-50 a month so not much compared to others mate. There is your answer (£2k! You drive a ferrari?!)
