needed a quick rinse off since its wash so dragged out the old snow foam this avo



and after a day too hot to polish, made the most of a nice evening, even if I did get some strange looks from people passing by, but need to start showing the old girl some TLC, looks like it could be on daily duties for a long while yet  :angry:

well its been a while, but the old girl has gradually been giving me issues to the point is now BELLOWS black smoke out you heavy right foot action.  :shocked:

infact its not far off this  :laugh:



to the point people are now flashing me  :lipsrsealed:


the problem was located this afternoon, the swirl valve bar has popped off and the fixings are fcuked  :rolleyes:

can you buy a new one from Vauxhall, can you fcuk, unless it comes with a COMPLETE INLET MANIFOLD  at MEGA £££££'s :rolleyes:

this is the item in question



So a quick google, search of the vectra forum and a trip to german ebay has located a suitable replacement



hopefully be here this week sometime, til then is smoke screen central and 35 MPG  :shocked: :cry:

then its the joy of trying to get all 4 lugs located in a very tight space  :laugh:

4 swirl valves on the 16v 150brake smoker

no3 is powered by an actuator

the bar is connected to all 4 and moves them accordingly, noramlly the actuator sticks but mine is fine.

the sockets on the bar are worn, and it falls off,  hence the GERMANS making a much improved version, its the same issue on Saabs, Fiats, Pauxhalls, to name a few.

117k on the clock

Made it smoke more and whistle louder but it made it to the ferry
