mk2 octavia vrs

I need some opinions on these...... ive just got a new job so looking to change cars, thing is i dont know whether its worth getting the diesel version or 2.0T??? i only really do short town trips so not sure if diesel is really worth the bother, also if you guys know any common probs with the engines any help in making my mind up is great  :smiley:

Diesel is cheaper to run in the long term plus cheaper insurance and road tax.

bricey: luckily i dont go down the seafront these days so havent been nicked in ages, used to be an everyday thing here though  :grin:

Not too bad around 28mpg in day to day use, a long run will see 35mpg.
