Timing gun how!
« on: 26 August 2011, 19:07 »
Just got hold of a timing gun, but I don't know where to point it, it is a snap on one with an advanced dial on it. What advance do I set it to, Ive got a 9A with a kr head. 10btdc rings a bell.

reading that post below  I have to point it at the flywheel hole. As said what setting do I put it on and to what btdc should I set it at.

Thanks

Erm, does help thanks, but pretty sure I was told my idle timing should be around 10btdc. I done what was shown above, could hardly see the mark was shaking loads!

Set the gun to zero advance and follow the instructions in the link above.

If you want 10 degrees advance then set your gun to 10 degrees and use the tdc mark on the flywheel, rather than the 6 degrees btdc marker.
