ConLog fitted by a monkey - removal?
« on: 25 August 2011, 19:59 »
Hello!

I have what looks like an aftermarket ConLog alarm / remote central locking thingy.   It looks like its been fitted by a monkey.

I'd like to remove it and put GTI back to standard - though the remote central locking would be nice to keep.  The immob and the squeak it makes when it unlocks would be nice to lose.

What is "factory" and what isn't?  Confused.  Immob?  Alarm?  Remote central locking?

Also - How do I get the fusebox out, its loose but "stuck" on the left side.  Latches both unclicked.

What do I need to remove?  Any wiring diagrams or alarm manuals around?

Thanks,
James

You only ever need two tools in life. If it moves and it shouldn't use Duct Tape. If it does not move and it should, use WD40.

if you take dash to bits where the lights and abs light are,you will see the control box mounted to a metal bracket.thats where mine is anyway, once you unbolted it which is a pain in the asre, you can simply remove the four wires which are spade connections and bridge these with two 3amp fuses, this will bipass the imb but you can still use remote to open and lock car....
