I know exactly what JKM say and I still know its flexible.
In my 4 previous visits nothing has ever started until 9.15/9.20
....Granted not starting on the rollers until about 9:15/9:20 because folks have made the effort and turned up by 9:00am sharp, which is why everyone is asked to respect JKM's wishes and turn up at 9:00am latest (obviously circumstances of their journey permitting). Do you really have a problem with that, Len?
Now I know it is prefferable to have everyone there so they can do their little pep talk, but hey if traffic or a small breakdown happens then being a little late is not the end of the world.
....Indeed it is preferable and that's why those of us who organise dyno-days at JKM do our utmost to respect JKM's wishes and ask everyone to be there by 9:00am
latest.
It's counter productive for bods like you to suggest to everyone on a forum that it's, to quote just one of your words, "flexible".
Personally I think its a bit OTT and Health & Safety gone mad like so many other things these days, but hey I also like hanging around and talking to folk.
....I wholeheartedly agree with you that H&S etc is
generally OTT in this country but there are also insurance aspects and whether anyone likes it or not JKM are obliged to give us their introductory talk and we should respect that they don't want to be having to repeat themselves to people who turn up later than asked.
- Turn up by 9:00am latest...
- JKM H&S chat @ as close to 9:00am as possible...
- First car on the rollers about 9:15-ish...
- Everyone, including JKM, has a great day socialising etc etc... Simples!
Have been on 6 (six) other RR's
....Have been on at least 10 (ten) @ JKM and organised quite a few of them. Have been to 4 other RR's. But I didn't think this was a competition to see who has been to the most RR's.
I was asked/invited to co-host this one with Andres so there would be enough folks on the rollers to make it worthwhile for everyone.
